PRODUCT DATA

RMI was originally formed in the late 60s by three brothers who developed the primary components as a roofing and waterproofing system. Roofmart International was then incorporated in 1990 where it has continued the legacy of creating quality fluid applied materials ever since.

Primers

Primers as surface preparation are an intricate part of any fluid applied roofing and waterproofing system.  Their fundamental purpose is to not only provide adhesion to a particular substrate or existing roof system but also act as a vapor barrier between that substrate and the new fluid applied system to ensure limited moisture migration from the underlying substrate or existing roof system.  Unchecked moisture migration from the underside could lead to delamination of the new fluid applied system.

RMI primers have been formulated for specific applications and substrates.  RMI requires both moisture & adhesion testing prior to new system installation.  These tests determine how much or how many coats of a specific primer are required to function properly based upon tested field conditions.

When in doubt as to a particular substrate or project specific application, contact RMI Technical Services.

RMI FLEX

Description:
  • Two part catalyzed Polyglycol rubber, 100% solids, solvent free, non-breathable vapor retarder liquid applied membrane used as a base coat or flashing membrane for application in multiple roofing and waterproofing component systems. UV exposure applications require RMI liquid applied roof coatings.

  • While many fluid applied membranes have excellent elongation properties, RMI Flex has 100% memory.
  • Ideal for both extreme high and low temperature applications.
  • Does not require reinforcing fabrics.
  • Ideal for both vertical and horizontal applications.
  • Exceptional dry and cure times make it impervious to rain within 30 minutes depending on ambient temperature.
  • Same day surface wear coat applications.
  • Brush, roller or spray applied.
Compatible Substrates:
  • Structural Concrete.
  • Lightweight Insulating Concrete (LWIC)
  • Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF).

  • Not intended as an unprotected finished traffic or pedestrian walkway.

SPRAY POLYURETHANE FOAM INSULATION

Description:
  • Two-component, closed-cell, polyurethane foam system, designed for spray applications. "A" component is a polymeric disocyanate. "B" component is a combination of polyols, catalytic agents and non-ozone depleting HFC-245fa blowing agent.
  • Used as monolithic, high R value, high density, high compressive value tapering substrate for the application of RMI systems.
  • RMI has developed a proprietary "gasket flashing system" utilizing RMI Flex fluid applied non-breathable less than 1 perm membrane with 500+% elongation and 100% memory to provide a double floating seal at all penetrations, transitions, curbs, walls and perimeter. The net result is a true monolithic tapered insulation with superior flashings than conventional board stock and roll sheet membranes.
  • It can be surfaced with or without RMI Flex as required. One of our liquid applied roof coatings is required to complete the system.
  • Compressive value significantly higher than conventional board stock insulation when combined with RMI Flex provides one of the most hail resistant roof systems available today.
Compatible Substrates:
  • Structural Concrete
  • Lightweight Insulating Concrete (LWIC)
  • Gypsum Decks
  • Tectum Decks
  • Existing SPF
  • Asphalt Built Up Roofing (BUR)
