One standout project is the encapsulation of grain elevators at the Export Grain Terminal in Longview, Washington. Undertaking such a large‐scale application required both a robust product and a highly skilled contractor.

The Apex Painting Partnership

RMI partnered with Apex Painting—an Owatonna, Minnesota‐based specialty painting contractor—to complete this demanding job. Unlike many coatings, RMI Flex can be applied in cold weather conditions, even below 32°F. Despite challenges with new construction, surface preparation, and fluctuating temperatures, Apex’s expertise ensured a successful application.

Performance Over Time

Ten years later, the RMI system continues to protect the grain elevators with zero performance issues. This durability underscores the importance of combining a proven fluid applied roofing system with precise installation techniques, particularly in environments subject to frequent wear and abuse.
