Non‐Destructive Roof Restoration at a Hospital and Care Center

Stiles Roofing, Inc. recently restored a modified bitumen roof at a hospital and care center that had sustained minor hail damage. The hail impact removed significant granules from the cap sheet, leaving the roof vulnerable to further wear. To address this, RRS performed an infrared (IR) scan to detect moisture intrusion, then installed three gallons of RMI Flex and two coats of RMI Thane to create a seamless, protective membrane.

A key advantage of the RMI system in this scenario was its compatibility with both the modified bitumen and the attached metal roof sections, enabling a uniform restoration without the need for disruptive tear‐offs. By selecting a non‐destructive and rapid application process, the hospital was able to maintain normal operations—an important factor for patient care—while also benefiting from a cost‐effective, long‐lasting, and more sustainable solution.
